Benefits to this Drill

The hitter will breakdown the swing in 3 parts creating more stability throughout the swing

1. NEGATIVE MOVEMENT (LOAD): Pinch and Stack

2. TOE TOUCH: 60% on backside /40% on frontside

3. HEEL DROP: As the front heal slams down the hitter weight distribution should be 50/50

Common Miscues

No pinch or hinge in the load, back knee leans over back foot

Weight transfers to far forward placing too much weight in the front foot and at times the hands are brought forward, not anchored back

Back shoulder drops, front shoulder tilts

50/50 balance is not evident

Identify the Standout

Swing the knob, not the barrel

50/50 balance when positioned to launch

Bringing the force down on the heel drop

Control is maintained from the beginning to the end of the swing

Fluid tempo and solid contact made
